Policy on Inclusion of Quality Content on the Website:
The MCDIN
electronic clearinghouse is intended to be a resource for easy-to-access quality
improvement materials for healthcare providers working to improve chronic
disease outcomes. In order to maintain the integrity of data in the
clearinghouse, MCDIN adheres to the following policies:
All information
submitted or solicited as web content must include a brief description of how
the reader or user can utilize it in their quality improvement efforts.
For example, state-level data on disease prevalence must be submitted to the
site with a description that says, "This data can be used to compare your
practice or plan-level disease prevalence data to statewide trends."
All resources or tools put into Resources and Tools database must be
screened and found to contain the following characteristics:
- Produced no more than five years prior to date of inclusion on the site.
- Disclosure regarding content sources
- Disclosure regarding funding sources
- Reference to field testing or other means of demonstrating effectiveness
at improving clinical outcomes, or effectiveness as a planning resource for
professionals involved in quality improvement planning.
- Contact information for receiving or purchasing copies.
All web links made
to the site must be screened and found to contain the following characteristics:

Updated on a regular basis

Culturally & linguistically appropriate

Disclosure regarding content sources

Disclosure regarding funding sources
Search instructions for the MCDIN
databases will contain explicit instructions on how to search for information
and resources that have demonstrated positive impact on clinical outcomes.
While the databases may contain resources and information that have not yet
shown improvements, users will be directed to those resources known to work for
the intended population.
Members of the MCDIN Project Team or its designee shall be responsible for
screening web resources as deemed necessary by volume of information on the
site.
MCDIN
shall adhere to the standards of quality set forth on this page in the
development and on-going maintenance of the electronic clearinghouse.
