• Massachusetts Guidelines for Adult Diabetes Care from the Diabetes Control Program
  These guidelines were developed collaboratively by the Diabetes Control Program at Mass Dept. of Public Health with representatives from the major insurers across the state.  They are the accepted guidelines of the MassHealth Primary Care Clinician (PCC) Plan.

• Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Massachusetts
  Blue Cross & Blue Shield  has recommended Diabetes Prevention and Treatment Guidelines.  The diabetes guidelines section begins on page 69 of the PDF file.  

• Fallon Health Care System's Clinical Practice Guidelines
  for the Management of the Patient with Diabetes Mellitus 
  (Ages 18-70)
  This comprehensive guideline was created by an expert panel at Fallon Community Health Plan.  It is used as a guide or recommendation for clinical staff who see Fallon patients.  
  It is not intended to replace clinical judgment.

• Neighborhood Health Plan's Diabetes Clinical Guidelines 
  Clinical guidelines adopted by Neighborhood Health Plan, its network providers, and health centers will updated in September of 2001.  Currently, NHP links to Massachusetts Diabetes Control Program Guidelines.

• Tufts Health Plan Disease Management Practice Guidelines for Diabetes are based on the recommendations from the ADA,  AACE, and the CDC's Diabetes Education & Control Program.  The diabetes guidelines, if still available, are through provider log-in only.  Call Tufts for more inforamtion.

• American Diabetes Association (ADA) Clinical Practice Recommendations for 2002
  The American Diabetes Association has been actively involved in the development and dissemination of diabetes care standards, guidelines, and related documents for many years. This compilation contains all current ADA position statements related to clinical practice. It is a convenient and important resource for all health care professionals who care for people with diabetes.

• American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists (AACE) Diabetes Guidelines (2002 Update)
  Guidelines developed by AACE to assist the health care team in overseeing and directing an integrated system of care for diabetic patients based on the AACE system of Intensive Diabetes Self-Management.

• Clinical Guidelines on the Identification, Evaluation & Treatment of Overweight & Obesity in Adults
  The National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute, in cooperation with the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases, released the first Federal guidelines on the identification, evaluation, and treatment of overweight and obesity. Guidelines are available in or HTML formats.

• Third Report of the Expert Panel on Detection, Evaluation, and Treatment of High Blood Cholesterol in Adults (Adult Treatment Panel III) Full Report
  The Third Report of the National Cholesterol Education Program (NCEP) Expert Panel on Detection, Evaluation, and Treatment of High Blood Cholesterol in Adults (Adult Treatment Panel III, or ATP III) presents the updated clinical guidelines for cholesterol testing and management. The ATP III full set of guidelines is an evidence-based, extensively referenced report that is the basis for several related products and tools.

• Veterans Health Administration Clinical Guidelines for Management of Diabetes Mellitus 2000
  Veterans Health Administration clinical guidelines for diabetes in MS Word format. The guidelines take a few minutes to download.

• National Guidelines Clearinghouse (NGC)
  The National Guideline Clearinghouse (NGC) is a comprehensive database of evidence-based clinical practice guidelines and related documents produced by the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ), in partnership with the American Medical Association (AMA) and the American Association of Health Plans (AAHP).  The NGC provides a link to national guidelines and recommendations.  You can compare guidelines using this site or reference the actual documents.  To locate a guideline:  Search by disease.  Then, decide if you want to view brief summary, complete summary or full text.

• Primary Care Clinical Practice Guidelines  
  A sampling of clinical practice guidelines from the University of California at San Francisco's Department of Medicine. These user-friendly statements bring together the best external evidence and other knowledge necessary for decision-making about a specific health problem.  There are guidelines from many different sources here.
